Emirates calls back furloughed Flight Attendants

One year has passed since thousands of Flight Attendants were made redundant and let go. For them, a redundancy communication meant there was no guarantee to be called back in the future. Today, almost 13 months after, the airline has sent out a communication to its ex-employees stating that they are seeing a market recovery and expecting to rehire those crew that were let go.

In a communication seen by Galleytalk.me, the Emirates HR Operations department stated ‘We’ve mapped up our operations to reflect this positive trend in demand, but we still remain cautious in managing our resources to be as efficient as possible’.

Their email later continues ‘At this stage, we’re inviting Cabin Crew interested in re-joining Emirates to register their interest on the Emirates Group Careers website. This is not a call-back at this stage, but rather an expression of interest so we are ready to reactivate when the time is right’.

Even though this is not a full call-back from the airline, it certainly opens a big door for all those who were left in darkness with their wings clipped without any hope.
